Katie, flying her kite.

Ross, flying his kite.

The kites.

Anyway, all that was before my grand entrance upon my similarly-aged cousins. A year had passed since seeing some of them! But, I knew that they were once and always my friendly relatives, and I could only imagine how enthusiastic their greeting would be upon seeing their favorite cousin return to the Dundas homestead:

Later, Heather took us to Bridge"town" (which might deserve it's own sub-series were it not a town only in PEI nomenclature (remember, to convert PEI geography to regular geography, knock the PEI units down an order of magnitude): the commercial strip along Highway 4 just isn't what it used to be) to see who would be to me a second cousin once removed (I think).

This is cute.

It's great that the Mitchells can come out at the end of the day and reasonably expect to find a caddy empty of potatoes and a jar full of change.

Cows in a PEI-scale "ravine" outside Bridgetown.

Heather and I came down here to see an eagle's nest, but with no luck here we later went to see a much more obvious one.

From right to left: Heather, Grand Uncle Neil, Marion Matheson (grandmother). The woman on the right we know only by her bright smile and cheery sense of humour.

From left to right: Kari, Nigel, Lindsay, Shannon.

... then Elizabeth, then Christina.

The playground behind my alma matter (Dundas Consolidated Elementary School) - with vintage equipment such as the swings and right monkey bars still in use, though repainted from their original orange. See me visit an early playground memory.

See a video concerning me on the swings.

This wasn't here when I was a kid, so of course I had to try it out.

I'm also much better at the monkey bars than I used to be. See a video.

Heber likes to express himself while cutting the school's grass.

About to play S-P-U-D. This game probably has a hundred variants, some of which you've probably played.

From left to right: Lindsay, Ila (sister), Christina, Aunt Shirley.

From left to right: Nigel, Trevor, Charlotte, Shannon, Christina, Lindsay, Elizabeth.

Centre: Muriel.

The soccer / baseball area of Dundas Consolidated Elementary School. This place brings back a lot of "fond" memories (video)...

An old-school Wagoneer (my favourite kind of Jeep) further down the Cuberland Hill Road.

The best I could do from the car; there was a loose dog in the nearby yard.

Elizabeth (lower right) asserts her interpretation of the card rules.

From left to right: Jennifer, Lindsay, Jimmy.

From left to right: Malcolm, BJ, Uncle Shane.

Right: Jimmy stares down an inferior official.

Right: Jimmy, obviously scared. He must have a poor hand.

Me, bored.

Me, really bored.

Me, really really bored.

Trevor bit Kari's finger and drew blood.

Kari: "That hurt! Owww!"

Survivor, from left to right: Elizabeth, Arthur Jr., Paul, Trevor, Lindsay, Christina.

Heber and his project tractor. It had been in storage for decades, but he got it running again.

Right: Grand Aunt Winnie.

Watching Ice Age.

Mary and her new son Ryan.

Aunt Winnie (second from left) doesn't need TV for entertainment, bless her.

Left: Ross.

Ross, Ryan, Mary.

Lindsay: "Grampa, you're blocking the TV!"

Patches, still going after all these years.

Ross on Heber's tractor.

Ryan.

Flora and her family arrive.

(cousin) Neil is their porter, entirely without complaint!

Amber and Neil.

Amber, Neil, and my less photogenic relatives. I did take too many pictures, though.

Aunt Winnie and her charge left the same day I did (hence the switch back to film).

Neil tore this off me and left a stain on my jeans. Oh well, the boat isn't really a place to pick up anyway.
