(Through Fei's gear camera, we see Dan get shot by one of the gears.)

(The cross appears again in Fei's mind. He begins to scream. He sees himself as a child, covered in blood, then as the faceless figure, as a child, covered in blood.)

(In the cockpit, Fei is replaced by the faceless figure. He grunts/laughs.)

(Suddenly everything is ablaze in white, like a nuclear detonation. Houses explode. Alice looks at her hands, then evaporates.)

(We cut to outside the village where people are gathered.)

DAN: Alice! No!!
