In July 2000, Canada will welcome back the tall ships to the shores of Nova Scotia, as Halifax becomes the Official Canadian Race Port for the Tall Ships 2000 series. The stop in Halifax will be part of a four-month voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, featuring almost 150 world-class tall ships from around the globe.
Trans-Atlantic tallship races occur about every eight years, Tall Ships 2000 represents the
pinnacle moment in sail training for over 5,000 young men and women who will participate.
