A Quick Autobiography
I wrote the following autobiography for my performance as Giles Corey in The Crucible. It's a little cynical, but it works.
William Matheson is a nineteen-year-old Albion Cross, Prince Edward Island native who has resided in Bedford, Nova Scotia for the past seven years. In PEI, he was involved in two Mainstage kiddie performances at the Confederation Centre of the Arts - notably, he played the Mayor of Munchkin City in the 1992 Triple Threats production of The Wizard of Oz. After leaving behind the love of his life in PEI, one would think that William's life would stop - actually, it goes on, getting worse. In later exploits, he got kicked out of a small Bedford Junior High Christmas play because he was acting like an insufferable sod. He then spent two years at Sandy Lake Seventh-Day Adventist Academy, had both his arms and spirit broken, and got the opportunity to have the loved one move away from him this time, just for a change of pace. After a truly miserable four years at Charles P. Allen High School (where he got to play some more lead roles - notably, Peter in the 2000 Drama 12 production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), he literally flipped a coin and wound up at Saint Mary's University as both a freshman and the First-Year Representative on the Student Representative Council. William's hobbies include creative writing, light acting, and impromptu singing; and pretending that he can write, act, and sing. He has written several novellas, has written and produced a screenplay, and currently maintains a gargantuan website for all these things at http://willmatheson.com.
