I had heard (and eagerly anticipated) that this new building was to incorporate some sort of "pizza place," which would have been pretty cool, because you couldn't get real pizza in Ostroh. It was still being finished when I left.

I had heard (and eagerly anticipated) that this new building was to
incorporate some sort of "pizza place," which would have been pretty cool,
because you couldn't get real pizza in Ostroh. It was still being finished
when I left.
One thing the city did do was put in some solar-powered streetlamps,
which was a nice touch. Also, the exisiting streetlamps had a greater tendency
to be actually lit as winter came on with its longer nights. This was exceedingly
welcome, speaking as one who was otherwise making a disproportionate ammount
of effort in his walking just to dodge horse manure.
The next gajillion photos were taken on my October 2nd walk to Mezhyrich...
And now I'm on the way back...
... and that's the end of that journey!
The dogs in Ostroh were the bane of my existence.
Okay, also the treacherous, ice-covered sidewalks and the non-functioning streetlamps and the rude children at the cybercafe and the crazy drivers and the people who stared at you and the people who called me a terrorist when I grew a beard and the home difficulties and the intra-group conflicts and the disgusting washrooms and that crazy lady who wouldn't let people use the road on her property as a shortcut...
But right now we're looking at dogs.
