PS16 - More! Scans
(Most photos by Shirley MacClure)

A rather monumental collection of some nice prints from my childhood. Some of these pictures are ten years old. Some of these pictures are nearly twenty years old. On the other hand, a few are less than five years old (and so not really from "childhood," I suppose). I think there are some real gems in here.

Near Borden-Carleton. Kari is no doubt exacting revenge over something. =)

Uncle Shane and I.

Me, back when I could play the piano.

At a wedding party on the Saint John River. From left to right: Aunt Shirley, Malcolm, William Matheson.

Me, instructing Simon (left) on the finer points of chess, such as the en passant rule.

This isn't going the way you might think it is. My remaining four pieces were able to whomp his ass - make no mistake!

Uncle Shane and I at Poley Mountain.

Kari and I at the Plowing Match.

Kari and a very young Ila.

Me, in 2001, at the new Greenwich beach.

Grandma and I.

At Muriel's. I had been smiling, but then I got this funny look when everyone was laughing at me over the tea I had just spilled all over myself.

From left to right: Trevor, Kari, Jim (rear), Ila (front), Lindsay, William, Elizabeth.

Ila and Kari. Awww...

Rear, from left to right: Muriel (D.), Uncle Shane, Christina, Lindsay.
Front, from left to right: José, Tyler, Carolyn.

Kari and I.

At the Plowing Match. From left to right: William, Aunt Donna (rear), Kari (front), Grandma, Aunt Shirley. Ah, I think I saw someone who had been bugging me earlier, or maybe I just noticed something I didn't like. Anyway, I try to be more positive nowadays.

From left to right: Grand Aunt Muriel, BJ, William. This was back in my ugly years, but this picture is important because it's from one of Grand Aunt Muriel's last visits to the island.

Smash!

In Fortune, near BJ and Art. Sr.'s rented cottage.

Dad and Melaney bringing the sheep home.

The new entry in the Springwater Farms fleet. From left to right: Aunt Donna, Kari, Ila, Melaney, Dad, Rae.

My bedroom. Cozy, though I'm sometimes approached by nosy neighbours. =)

No good, they didn't leave the keys.

Some baseball-ish pictures. They'd make pretty decent baseball cards.

Paul.

Arthur Jr.

Arthur Sr.

BJ.

Maria.

Malcolm.

Mary.

Aunt Shirley, Carl.

Me. No talent, but I always knew how to have fun. =)

From left to right: David (!! - he's seldom seen), Jimmy, Ruthie (with Lindsay).

Paul and Trevor.

José.

Aunt Shirley at Acadia Univeristy, hers and Uncle Shane's alma matter.

Uncle Shane, still too cheap to eat inside. His buddies would come out in February and say, "Hey, Shane! Ain't you cold?"

Me, in Victoria Park (Charlottetown).

My foster brother Carl, back in Albion Cross.

Me, resting after a hard day at the construction site.

Shamus and I exploring our new basement. They said I could put my Super Nintendo down here and everything, just as long as it doesn't rain.

Dad and Carl.

From left to right: Uncle Shane, learning which Tandy 1000HD 512Kb games don't work on an MDA-equipped 256Kb True Blue. Dad, Me. Wow - 256Kb isn't even enough to view all the images on this page at once. But you could do some cool text-ish stuff with that much memory. I think my favourite program from that machine was Your Personal Poet. It's probably out there Somewhere, but it's 5:49am Christmas morning ('03) as I type this, so as you might imagine, I have slightly better things to do right now! =)

Wow, this brings back memories. I can still hear the soft sound of Aunt Shirley's gentle laughter, and the sound of my echoes off the trees: "Wait, Shirley, wait! Wait, Shirley, wait! Aunt Shirley! Where are you? Aunt Shirley!"

Just to mix it up, here's some from the other side of my family:

From left to right: Colin (1st cousin), Andrew (1st cousin), William.

Grampy and me.

Gee, I think this is my first outside-Canada picture to make it on here! This is from Uncle Bill's house when he was preaching in Ogmorevale, Wales. Wales rocks. Clockwise from left: Uncle Bill, Aunt Jesse (with newborn Alexander), Mom, Catherine, Jean, William, Andrew, Elise.

"Stick with me kids, I'll teach you the right way to eat an apple."
