PS13 - Angela & Paul's Wedding Reception

Some of these pictures were taken by my mother with her new camera (I'm sharing the best 19). Many of these were taken by me with my old camera. My mom had trouble knowing when to use the flash, and I had trouble with shot selection.

November 16th, 2003: Added some great images from Paul's (stepfather's) camera. We just got the roll back this week, should you need an indication of how rarely Paul has pictures taken for him. I'll indicate these shots with (p). Oh, I just realized that there's a possibility for confusion here: Angela's husband's name is Paul Collier, while Angela's father's name is Paul Giles.

Venue: Banook Canoe Club (Lake Banook, Dartmouth) - site of Safe Grad '99!!

(d) - Pictures taken by my mother.
(p) - Pictures taken for my stepfather.

Proof of the supreme coolness of Halifax and Dartmouth: How many metropoli can you name where there are lakes within the city safe for swimming, let alone world-level canoeing?

Prince Albert Road.

The girls on the raft kept calling up to me as I took pictures. "Hello, sir!"

The old Shubenacadie canal. Now that we have trucks bigger than row boats and roads on which to convey them, it's fallen out of use.

A short, dry streambed.

According to worldwide authority Tanya, Henry Findlay is one of the forgotten people / parks of what is now HRM.

(d) Paul, father of the bride.

(d) Angela, said bride.

(d) From left to right: William Matheson, Eric, Bernice.

(d) Terry, a friend of the family who came down from Kentville.

(d) Right: Father of the groom. On the other side of the lake is the rival wedding party. =)

(d) Some of Angela's friends. The woman just behind Paul is a large-animal veterinarian from the Eastern Townships of Québec. The woman behind her is a photographer from Montréal. They are both extremely cool.

(d) From left to right: Christopher, Paul, Angela, Karen, Sarah.

I was thinking my picture of the wedding party might be better, but I guess I don't have the advantage of LCD shot confirmation.

(d) Left: Terry's wife Maryln.

(d)

Angela's first cousin (on her mother's side) Crystal and her boyfriend. Crystal once went to CPA.

(d) From left to right: Patsy, Judy, Brad (stepbrother). I was going to say a few words when the MC invited people to do so, but I chickened out because my mother was staring at me. I guess I'll have to save the material for Brad's wedding. =)

(p) Paul and Angela dance-droved to "You Are So Beautiful" and "My Father's Eyes." It was sweet.

(p) Paul and his mother.

(d) Awww.

(p) Hey, someone get those gate crashers off the dance floor!

(p)

(p) Priceless.

(p) "You know, I'm not really sure what all this wedding fuss is about. I mean, I've never had a real girlfriend, and you don't hear me complaining."

I have no idea who put the sign on our van, but I thought it was funny. (Wait a minute, does that mean that people were using our van as a...)

Update: Paul (stepfather) and Angela don't think this so funny anymore. That dent you see up and left of the liscence plate is where some idiot kicked the van. Perhaps they hoped that I had left it in neutral or something.

I'd like to apologize to Angela and Paul for the quality of my photos. Fortunately, they had a real photographer there who took real pictures, so I'm off the hook. Anyway, between us three mediocre photographers and any prints we might recover from the real one, we did a passable job.
