PS11 - The Cronica Set Tour (preliminary edition)
Cronica is an obsure amateur movie directed by Michael Fox and starring Joey Campbell, Janice Townsend, and Corey Strong which normally wouldn't occaision much interest on willmatheson.com. However, it was shot very near my house; in fact, it was shot so very near my house that when I saw the movie I asked Mike how he could make a movie practically at my doorstep without involving me in even the slightest way. However, I put these feelings of neglect aside to bring you a brief photographic tour of some of the locations where Cronica was shot. I may come back to this page later to add some pictures from the Jack Lake area and the end of Smith's Road, where some other scenes were shot. I'll add a picture of the church in Bedford that has the "Protect Life" sign in front of it if I get the inclination - some opening and closing scenes were shot there.
This section of woods is hiked through often in the film. Around here
is where Janice and Corey look up and notice that they are being tracked
from the air. (Mike maintains that he hired the plane to fly overhead in
advance, but I think he was just lucky.)
Sandy Lake.
The peninsula on the right holds an old growth forest. The land belongs
to the Sandy Lake Seventh-Day Adventist Academy.
Giles Drive, site of the scenes where the characters are travelling
in Jeeps. Mike's infamous rollover accident occoured here. When I saw the
movie for the first time, I was shouting incredulously, "Hey! That's my
street!"
(PS9) Admiral De Wolfe Park in Bedford,
site of the confrontation between Janice and Brian Haas. The wind was up
the day they shot here, and the audio therefore is terrible, but they did
what they could.
