PS9 - Snow-laden Pictures

These pictures from a disposable ISO 400 camera were scanned and processed at the Bedford Market SuperStore's PHOTOLAB in February 2002. While the prints turned out more or less okay, I was really unimpressed with the Picture CD - compared to Kodak's, it lacks in features, and also in image quality. For instance, usually when you pay to have something scanned, you don't see little sharp scanning lines... to use a television analogy, it's like I'm viewing an ATSC non-interlaced image with a NTSC set. So all told, I am giving Loblaw's Picture CD the big thumbs-down. Although considering the aggravation I've gone through having to do so many manual alterations to make these presentable, and considering that I would have gotten better results with any home scanner, I am tempted to chose another finger to raise.

I had to shovel all that!!

This is the entrance to the driveway, which is especially good for intimidating cab drivers. You can almost hear them groan, especially the airport guys who work on a flat rate.

Here's the front deck - not quite so cozy and festive now, is it? =)

The lakefront in winter.

There's the red truck that plows the outer portion of our driveway.

Here's where some city workers were working on the sewer line earlier.

You're probably wondering what the sheds are for. Well, we keep a horse in the one on the right. I wish I was kidding.

This thing is great for keeping the neighbour's kids off our property. =)
