PS9 - Pearl & Bill MacLean 50th Anniversary Party Photos
If anyone I haven't identified sees themselves in here (or if I've made a mistake), feel free to give a shout-out to me at heythatsme@willmatheson.com and I'll make the inclusions. Just tell me how you're related to Pearl or Bill, and I'll work out the rest.
My mother drove Stuart and I up to Ross Ferry, Boularderie Island for
my Grand Aunt Pearl and Grand Uncle Bill's 50th wedding anniversary. The
night before, we had a small gathering at their cottage. From left to
right: Stuart Johnston (1st cousin), Joyce Johnston (grandmother),
Heather Johnston-Reynolds (aunt), Brenda Johnston-Giles (mother).
Stuart and Uncle Cliff (Johnston) concentrating on a game of linkfour.
From left to right: Pearl MacLean (grand aunt), Joyce Johnston
(grandmother), Brenda Johnston-Giles (mother).
The MacLean grandchildren, grandnephews, and grandnieces finding an
innovative and creative way to pass their time on Boularderie Island.
Bill MacLean (grand uncle) enjoying his newspaper.
The remainder are pictures from the day of the party. The kids played
with a special raft / trampoline unit.
From left to right: Merv Stagg (grand uncle, trumpet), Brenda
Johnston-Giles (mother, guitar), Joyce Johnston (grandmother, piano), John
"Jack" Stagg (grand uncle, facing me in the background).
From left to right: Tori MacLean (2nd cousin), Natalie MacLean
(2nd cousin), Erin Johnston (1st cousin), Heather Reynolds (aunt). Here
you can also get a look at the printing mistake on the t-shirts. What I
did with mine was change the "2002" to "1977." Someone wrote "It seems
like 50" on Pearl's own shirt.
From left to right: Erin Johnston (1st cousin), Don MacLean
(first cousin once removed), John "Jack" Stagg (grand uncle), James "Jim"
Johnston (grandfather).
I know this picture is kind of hard to read, but it's an important
one - the toast to Bill and Pearl. From left to right: Lloyd MacLean
(first cousin once removed, giving a speech), Bill MacLean, Pearl MacLean,
Don MacLean.
Stuart, Erin, Tori, and Natalie discovering the water baloons. Erin
was the meanest to me. =) I got soaked a bunch of times.
At the end of the day, we had a little fireworks display at the shore.
Pearl has a shot like this, too. I can't remember whether I stole the
idea from her, or if instead she stole it from me. =)
